Cruising on the cheap

Brisbane’s Citycats are a great way to get around

With the wind in my hair and a light occasional spray on my face, I’m rediscovering the joy of public transport by travelling on Brisbane’s fast, sleek CityCats whenever I can. Jumping aboard and travelling the river to get to where I’m going has been a great way to get around since returning to Brisbane recently after seven years living in Melbourne.  CityCats run from the University of Queensland at St Lucia to the cafes of Bulimba and Tenneriffe and on to Hamilton, the last stop. There are lots of stops along the way that are worth getting off at but if you don’t, the whole length of the CityCat route takes a bit more than an hour and will cost you the princely sum of $5.20.
