Remembering Springtime

As Australia heads into autumn, my friends in the northern hemisphere are celebrating the arrival of spring.

This week’s challenge from fellow blogger Ailsa at Where’s My Backpack was to come up with a post about Spring. Here in Brisbane, there’s one thing that’s synonymous with spring and that’s the purple flowers of the jacaranda trees that are planted all over the city.

To people who grew up in Brisbane, it’s also synonymous with university exam time!  I’ve written about this before, in one of my earliest blog posts, Under the jacarandas.

Of course, there are other flowers blooming in spring too…and these are just some of my favourites that brighten up life in my sub-tropical city from September to November!
