Blogging about books

Books have been one of my passions since I was a child. My ever-growing collection of books still includes some of my childhood favourites. My reading tastes are fairly eclectic – everything from biographies to crime fiction (and a bit of true crime), to the latest Australian fiction, Dickens and even some prize-winners.
Sometimes, I think I should cull my books. Instead, I usually just try to fit in another bookcase. My close friends also tend to be avid readers, and I love to talk about books, borrow them, recommend them and keep on buying them. So perhaps it’s no real surprise to many people who know me to find that I’ve decided to launch another blog, about books!
I thought there might be even more people out there who might want to get involved in talking about books. And although it will not be all about travel books by any means, you’re sure to find a few travel books on my reading list (that includes guide books, narratives, books I’ve written and that my writer friends have written). I also love to read books that are set in the place that I’m travelling to, whether it’s a travel narrative, a biography or a novel.
I’ll be writing about what I’m reading and what’s on my bookshelf or bedside table, with maybe a few bits of book news thrown in (particularly if its about an author who I’ve got in my collection). If I’ve been to a writers festival, you’ll hear about that too.
Lee’s World of Books is a very personal blog, and I’m doing it for no other reason than that I’ll get pleasure out of it. I’d love to hear your recommendations for good books – and your comments on what I’m reading too. It’s still a bit of a work in progress, but I’d love you to follow me and join in!

Lee – what a great idea! I just clicked to follow your new blog. I love books too. I tend to read the same type of book so I look forward to your recommendations!
Thank you so much! I think I’m going to have a lot of fun with this, and look forward to some good discussions about what other people enjoy too – or not!
